How to Get ‘Unstuck’ and Move Your Business Forward

It’s easy to get stuck in the business and day to day activities and feel like you don’t have enough time to focus on the rest. You may be keeping your head down, but you’ll want to continue growing as an individual and improving your skills set in order to continue to grow your business.

We’ve all been there… stuck in the grind. Chances are, you might even be there right now. Here are a few areas to start getting yourself unstuck and moving forward.

Without a doubt, one of the most important things you can do for yourself and your business is to continue to improve your skill set around the most important aspects of your business. Whether that’s improving leadership skills, focusing on sales, marketing, or improving your own personal development. Whatever it is, you need to identify the right areas and continue to focus and strive for how you can get better.

First, are you doing the right activities during your time or are you filling your time with the wrong activities? Always remember that 70% of your time should be spent on sales, marketing and money-making activities. If you’re not spending enough time there, re-focus on what you’re doing and how you can restructure it.

Next, are you using the right tools and resources around you? It’s easy to get caught up in your own world, to get stuck or to get overwhelmed at times. When this happens, ask yourself, am I doing everything I need to be doing? Evaluate your answers to these questions:

  • Where am I now?
  • Where do I want to go?
  • Am I using the resources around me to get where I want to go?

Make sure you do a regular check in to see how everything is going. Am I using the right things around me as best as I can?

Finally, look at how to improve the current things you’re doing. The entire reason for building your skill set in other areas is that it makes life easier for you in these different areas. Look at what you’re doing and segment your activities based on whether they’re revenue generating activities or not. If they’re not, your next step is seeing how you can systemise them and outsource or delegate to someone else. Remember your aim is to spend 70% of your time in this area.

The trick to getting unstuck is to recognise when you’re there and immediately take the right steps to move forward. Now go for it!
