It’s completely normal to fall behind a bit and lose traction and motivation. It happens to all of us. The question is not will it happen sometimes? The question is what will you do about it? How do you get yourself back on track?
You’ll hear over and over again that it’s all about getting your mindset right and developing your ability to take control of your mindset will truly make or break you in any situation, especially a challenging one.
The worst thing you can do for your mindset is get into bad habits with your thinking. Attitude is everything so check in with yourself, or even have this chat with someone you trust. Are you often negative or putting yourself down internally? Do you fill your head with negative thoughts and expectations?
Our subconscious mind is powerful and when you speak or think negatively, that’s exactly what the world gives you get back. When you think or say ‘I can’t do it.’ You won’t. So pay attention to your thoughts, listen to them and learn to recognise when you’re getting stuck in a negative slump. Sometimes it takes practice and stepping back everything.
Once you learn to identify when your mindset is getting you down. It’s time to learn what to do about it.
To get (and keep) your mindset right, you have to build the right kinds of strategies. The next entry is about what you can do to make sure stay motivated and energised so you’re always working towards the next goal.
